The Members of station 293 took to the field today in support of a friend and neighbor Jacqui Konop-Buckley who is currently undergoing treatment for lukemia. The 2 day softball tournament was very successful and hopefully much needed assistance was raised for this worthy cause. Unfortunatly the "Homeville Hoodlums" were eliminated from the tournament the first day of play. But a good time was had by all who played. Photo Courtesy of Beth Knapp |

Station 293 dispatched to assist Duquesne Annex Station 294 with a single car MVC. Upon arrival of 294 Captain it was reported that 2 people were heavily entrapped and that one patient was ejected and unresponsive. Upon arrival of 293 rescue crew s aassisted with the removal of the vehicles roof as well as patient packaging and extrication. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation by the WMPD as well as Allegheny County Police. This call also marks the last call for 293 Rescue as it will be replaced with a new 2010 Sutphen Rescue/Pumper in the next few weeks. The trusty old 68 Mack CF600 served the department well over the years and ended its service with one final entrappment call.. - 293,294,133@LZ,670,565,630,625,STATMedEvac 4, & STATMedEvac 2 |
